Gary "Chip" Weichelt was the founder of Academy Entertainment and The Academy Training Center. Through his work in law enforcement and military video and experiences, he touched many lives.
Chip was a rare individual. He was dedicated to his passion in a way that most of us can never hope to achieve. He led a most colorful life doing the things that he wanted to do and in so doing, took us all along for the ride. His creativity was matched only by his taste for the finer things in life and he set high standards for himself as well as those he knew and worked with.
Chip's vision for the videos that he produced was exciting, raw, and unscripted. And while he had his own ideas about the way a video should be, he always took into account the ideas and wishes of his audience. He preferred using real law enforcement and military personnel to enhance the experience of the video.
During his years at The Academy Training Center, Chip arranged programs for men who wanted to test themselves against a real prison scenario. Chip hired the best instructors that he could find to work at the Training Center and put his inmates to the test. Chip's clients at the Training Center always had a memorable experience.
Chip will be greatly missed.
